We’ve already seen some players sign extensions ahead of their 2023 free agency. The Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon agreed to a monster eight-year, $100.8 million deal that will make him the highest-paid player in the NHL. The Senators extended two of their young players in Josh Norris and Tim Stutzle, as well as the Blues with Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou.

But there are still plenty of names out there who are heading into the 2022-23 season on the final year of their contract. Patrick Kane, David Pastrnak, Ryan O’Reilly and Timo Meier highlight the unrestricted free agents, while Alexis Lafreniere, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Mat Barzal are the biggest names among the restricted free agents.
