In the next two-plus games though, Point has completely turned things around, and that continued in Game 4 on Friday evening.
Point broke through at the 4:36 mark of Game 4 when he sliced through Bruins defensemen Zdeno Chara and Charlie McAvoy before sliding the puck past Tuukka Rask with one hand on his stick.
After losing Game 1 6-2, the Lightning and Point’s line specifically have rebounded in a big way. Point had a goal and three assists in a Game 2 victory, and though he was held scoreless in Game 3, his defensive effort against the Bruins top line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak was paramount in the Lightning’s victory at TD Garden.
Tampa Bay currently leads Boston 2-0 in the first period of Game 4.
