Miller will "probably" start Friday against the San Jose Sharks, coach Ted Nolan said Thursday. It's Buffalo's last home game before the March 5 NHL trade deadline.

Neither Miller nor general manager Tim Murray is hiding that a trade is both likely and wise.

"The route we are looking at is to get value for him. To put him in a position to succeed. Our goal right now is to pursue a proper trade," Murray told reporters before the Sabres' game at Carolina.

That's good. There's also no real reason to sit him on Friday, either — Miller, 33, has been the face of the franchise for years. He can sit against the Dallas Stars on March 3, if need be. Might as well give everyone a chance to say goodbye.
