For Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds players wondering how they can get a Mount of their own, here’s a guide on unlocking one of the first ones that become available in the story, Catarumpus.

How to Get the Catarumpus Mount in Cross Worlds

To unlock the Catarumpus Mount in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, players will need to take on a Reputation Quest called ‘Unexpected Company.’

The quest should appear after completing a few of the starting story missions and when players are working towards increasing their Reputation Grade to level 3. The Reputation Quests can be located in Menu - > Missions - > Reputation.

Click on the Unexpected Company quest, and players can choose to fast travel to Great Uncle Autumn’s location or travel on foot. After speaking to the great tree, players will need to find Platypaws in the Tainted Autumn Forest nearby. Follow the marker to find Platypaws, and then he will lead players to the Catarumpus. Defeat the enemies to protect the cat from harm. Lead the cat back to Great Uncle Autumn, and he will reward players with the power to summon mounts.

How to Summon Mounts

Before players can use the mount in the field, they’ll need to summon the mount in the menu. Go to Menu, Character, and then click Mounts.

From there, press the button that says Stat Info, and then hit the summon button to use the required materials. After it’s finally summoned, go ahead and hit the Mount button. This will set Catarumpus as the current mount.

Exit out of the menus and go back into the field. There’s a small icon to the right of the Familiars line on the screen’s bottom. Press the icon to ride the mount, allowing players to move faster around the map.

Powering Up Mounts

By going back to the Mount menu, players can press the Power Up button to increase the stats of their mount. The stronger the mount, the better the stats are for the player’s character. However, a training material called a Feather Teaser is needed to train Mounts. As far as where players can find Feather Teasers, we got a ton of them by just completing various quests.
